DESCRIPTION
César took cars to a hydraulic press and exhibited what came out. The Compressions made him notorious; the Expansions, poured polyurethane foam frozen mid-spill, made him unclassifiable. He worked out of Marseille and Paris, welded scrap into figures when scrap was all he could afford, and belonged to the Nouveaux Réalistes without ever quite belonging to anything.
He also designed the trophy handed out every year at the French film awards, which is why the award is called a César. A sculptor whose name became the name of a statue.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
