DESCRIPTION
Rodriguez recorded two albums in Detroit around 1970, sold almost nothing, and went back to demolition and construction work for the next thirty years. Meanwhile, unknown to him, bootlegs of Cold Fact had made him a household name in South Africa, where a rumour circulated that he had died on stage.
Two fans went looking for the body and found a working man in Detroit instead. He played to stadiums in his seventies and remained, by every account, entirely unimpressed by it. He died in 2023.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
