DESCRIPTION

Tarkovsky called his book on filmmaking Sculpting in Time, which is as good a description of his method as anyone has managed: seven features built out of duration, water, ruined interiors and long takes that refuse to hurry. Andrei Rublev, Mirror, Stalker — films that ask for patience and repay it.

Soviet authorities obstructed him for two decades; he left in 1984 and died in Paris two years later, at 54, having finished exactly the work he intended to.

Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.

The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
