DESCRIPTION
She wrote nearly 1,800 poems and published fewer than a dozen. The rest she copied out, sewed into small hand-stitched booklets and left in a drawer, where her sister found them after her death. They arrive in dashes and broken metre, and they treat death as a subject to be examined at close range rather than mourned.
She spent her last years almost entirely inside her family's house in Amherst, which has made her the most famous recluse in American letters and the hardest one to photograph.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
