DESCRIPTION
Mishima wrote forty novels, thirty-three plays and a great deal else, was nominated for the Nobel Prize, and rebuilt his own body in the gym with the same discipline he gave to sentences. Confessions of a Mask made his name at 24; the Sea of Fertility tetralogy occupied his last six years.
In 1970 he led a small private militia into a Tokyo barracks, demanded a return to imperial rule before a jeering audience of soldiers, and killed himself. The work and the ending have been argued over ever since, and cannot really be read apart.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
