DESCRIPTION
Trakl trained as a pharmacist, which gave him both a profession and unrestricted access to the drugs that shortened his life. His poems are short, blue and autumnal, built from a small recurring vocabulary — sister, decay, evening, bone — that produces an effect closer to music than to statement. Wittgenstein, admiring the work, arranged financial support for him anonymously.
Serving as a medical orderly in Galicia in 1914, he was left to tend ninety wounded men alone. He died weeks later in a military hospital in Kraków, at 27.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
