DESCRIPTION
Wilde was the most quotable man in London and then, very suddenly, the most prosecuted. The Importance of Being Earnest was playing to full houses when the trials began; within months he was breaking rocks in Reading Gaol, and two years of hard labour finished his health.
What he wrote afterwards — De Profundis, the Ballad of Reading Gaol — has none of the glitter and all of the intelligence. He died in a Paris hotel in 1900, and is buried at Père-Lachaise under a tomb that visitors still cover in lipstick.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
