DESCRIPTION
Kerouac typed the draft of On the Road onto a single continuous scroll in about three weeks, drawing on years of notebooks kept on the road itself. He called the method spontaneous prose and defended it against editors for the rest of his life. The book gave several generations a permission slip he arguably never intended to issue.
He grew up in a French-speaking household in Lowell, Massachusetts, and learned English as a second language — which may explain the peculiar, oral music of the sentences. He died at 47.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
