DESCRIPTION
Verlaine wanted music before everything else, and he got it — verse so fluid that composers have been setting it ever since, Debussy and Fauré among them. The Fêtes galantes and Romances sans paroles are the sound of French poetry loosening its collar, half a step ahead of the Symbolists who would claim him.
He shot Rimbaud in the wrist in Brussels and served eighteen months for it, wrote some of his best work in the cell, and died broke in Paris in 1896 — by then elected Prince of Poets by his peers.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
