DESCRIPTION
Bolaño considered himself a poet who wrote novels to feed his family. He spent years in Blanes on the Catalan coast, working night shifts as a campground watchman, and produced The Savage Detectives and then 2666 — a book so large it was published after his death in five parts, arguing with itself about violence, poetry and the desert.
He died in 2003, at 50, waiting for a liver transplant, just as the world began reading him. The sculpture belongs to a collection of people who were late to be recognised.
Printed to order in holographic silk PLA, 15 cm tall. The iridescence shifts with light and viewing angle, and no two pieces come out identical — filament variation and the printing process itself see to that. Made in France, dispatched in 2-5 business days.
The image shown is a digital visualization of the artwork; a 360° view of an actual printed sculpture is available on the site. An original artistic interpretation by designer and visual artist Antonio de Santos, not affiliated with or endorsed by the subject or their estate.
